    Word allows us to format the next by applying various text styles, such as bold face, underline, italic, superscript, subscript, strike through etc. For applying the bold, underline and italic styles, w can use the corresponding buttons on the formatting toolbar. We can also use ctrlB to apply the bold style, ctrl I, to apply the italic and ctrl U to apply the underline style.

    To change the size, font of the text, we can use corresponding formatting commands from the toolbar. The font dialog box that is selected from the format menu is used to apply other styles, such as strike through subscript, superscript, all caps, small caps etc. the font dialog box also allows us to use different types of underlines and color for the text in the document.

    To change the alignment of a paragraph, we can use alignment buttons on the formatting toolbar. The paragraph dialog box is use to format paragraph(s). It is used to specify, the left and right indent, line spacing and spacing before and after the paragraph. The paragraph indents are normally specified in inches and spacing before and after paragraph in points. We can also control the indent through the ruler bar.

    To create numbered paragraphs, select the paragraph to be numbered and click the numbering button on the formatting toolbar. We can also use bulleted style by selecting bullet button on the formatting toolbar. These styles can be selected by using the format, bullets and numbering commands.
